Coming from the U.S. I was used to going into shops and picking up clothes, touching the fabric, holding up a pair of pants for sizing, even sometimes trying on a sweater or jacket right there by myself. Not exactly proper shop etiquette in France. I was totally unprepared for the first time I removed an item from a shelf by myself. Yup, I was the horrible person who didn't wait for the clerk and touched the merchandise. After being firmly reprimanded, I certainly learned the proper way to clothes shop. I haven't made that mistake again. |

Haha welcome to the world of culture shock! You'll find some very strange differences between the U.S and France. I can't list them all and I can never think of them on the spot so it's really a case of feeling your way along Obviously we're all here to help you with whatever problems you may encounter, but generally France is a great country (be prepared for the odd anti-american joke Welcome to TeenxPats by the way! |

Bah to hell with it. They want your money, they can put up with you touching their stock. Time for them to be less arrogant methinks... |
